Jay Varcoe
Jay Varcoe, CPA, MBA has been a certified public accountant since 1996. Jay received his MBA from Arizona State University and has an undergraduate degree from The Pennsylvania State University at Erie.
Jay began his accounting career working with Marriott Corporation as an Assistant Controller and then a Hotel Controller. After four years with Marriott Corporation, Jay began his public accounting career with local CPA firms in Bethesda, Maryland and Phoenix, Arizona before venturing out on his own in 1999.
Jay started his first CPA firm, Varcoe CPA & Advisor, PLC in 1999 which specialized in providing tax and accounting services to the restaurant industry. As a result of the firm’s industry specialization, he has worked with hundreds of restaurants over the past ten years. In 2005, he left accounting to be a “stay at home Dad” with his two preschool aged children but in 2007 he was called out of “retirement” to form Varcoe CPA, PC, a certified public accounting firm that specializes in providing accounting and tax services to small businesses. Jay is also a Certified QuickBooks Advisor and has been using QuickBooks software since 1994.
